Vi presentiamo la mostra fotografica di Tony Patrioli il fotografo italiano che ha saputo anticipare i tempi sul nudo maschile.

Dagli anni Settanta alla metà degli anni Novanta dello scorso secolo, Tony Patrioli è stato il più celebre fotografo italiano di nudo maschile al mondo.
I suoi libri e i numeri speciali di riviste sono stati pubblicati non solo in Italia, ma (caso unico per un artista italiano) anche negli USA, in Francia, Germania, Danimarca , Olanda e Gran Bretagna.
Patrioli ha catturato un tipo di bellezza maschile completamente diverso da quello proposto dai fotografi statunitensi e nordeurope, privilegiando un tipo fisico molto “ mediterraneo”, talmente caratterizzato che nel parlare comune all’epoca si indicava una certa tipologia fisica di ragazzo come “patriolesca”.
Poi, col nuovo secolo, il silenzio: un artista abituato a lavorare da solo come Patrioli non era in grado di competere con la produzione industriale e seriale proveniente dagli Stati Uniti.
Ma i tempi cambiano e, approfittando della ripresa d’interesse per la sua opera ( nel 2011 si sono tenute mostre delle sue opere a Brescia, Roma e Montisola) dopo quasi vent’anni di assenza, Tony Patrioli ha finalmente ripreso a fotografare.
Per celebrare l’avvenimento PIER OPEN SPACE ha inaugurato il 21 Gennaio 2012 una mostra che propone, accanto ad una scelta di fotografie del passato, alcuni servizi scattati nel 2011, con foto stampate per la prima volta appositamente per la mostra.
Ecco un occasione per conoscere Patrioli per chi non ha mai avuto occasione di vederne le opere, e di ritrovarlo per chi invece le ha apprezzate nei decenni trascorsi.

Here is Tony Patrioli’s photographic exhibition, the Italian photographer who was able to capture the moment of male nudism. The exhibition is open every day until the 18^th February 2012, from 10am till 1pm, and then from 3pm till 7pm.
From the 1970’s to the middle of the 1990’s, Tony Patrioli was the most famous Italian male nude photographer in the world. His books and his special magazine editions have not only been published in Italy (a unique case for an Italian artist) but also in the USA, France, Germany, Denmark, Holland and Great Britain. Patrioli was able to capture a type of male beauty which was completely different from those proposed to by American and north European photographers, hence giving importance to a very “Mediterranean” man and which in those days was characterized  and known as “patriolesca”. Then, with the turn of the century, complete and utter silence: an artist used to working alone like Patrioli was not able to compete with the industrial production coming in from the States. But times change, and taking advantage of a new found interest in his works of art (in 2011 exhibitions of his art were held in Brescia, Rome and Montisola), after almost a twenty year absence, Tony Patrioli has finally returned to his photography. To celebrate this event, PIER OPEN SPACE inaugurated an exhibition on the 21^st January which displays photos from the past, aswell as a selection from various photoshoots in 2011 which have been printed specifically for the exhibition. This is an occasion to get to know Patrioli for those who have never had the opportuinity of doing so, and for those who appreciated his art in the years gone by to rediscover him again.
