Non sono indispensabili scuole ne studi particolari che ti diano la qualifica di artista. Artista ci si nasce. Lo sei dentro. Come nel  caso del mio carissimo amico Massimo Fichera. Lui e la sua infinita creatività, lui e il suo non avere limiti alla fantasia.  Massimo non segue delle regole; sa “semplicemente” ascoltare e  di conseguenza seguire  il suo istinto. Davvero grande e rara dote la sua.  Perché saper essere completamente artisti a mio parere vuol dire non avere freni. Vuol dire essere capaci di ascoltarsi dentro e non avere paura delle proprie sensazioni. Lasciarle fluire come devono. Come sanno.  Massimo fa il restauratore, ma oltre a questo, insieme all’amico Maurizio Fragalà, da un paio di anni, ha lanciato un marchio di bijoux: prima MF ArtCreator che a breve si trasformerà in Balad El Fil.
Questo servizio rappresenta per me qualcosa di veramente speciale. Forte. Intenso. Vibrante e in qualche modo magico e misterioso.  In queste foto, scattate al tramonto nel meraviglioso scenario dei crateri Silvestri dell’Etna è venuta fuori una “nuova parte di me”. O meglio forse sono stati gli occhi di Maurizio Fragalà  che attraverso la sua macchina fotografica mi hanno voluta vedere e catturare proprio così: Rocciosa e sensuale.  Intensa e di fuoco. Quello che indosso è “un outfit di sperimentazione” decisamente fuori dalle righe, pensato e realizzato da Massimo. Il corpetto in pizzo nel quale sono state ricamate pietrine di  pietra lavica e pezzetti di corallo è stato creato e presentato in occasione della mostra del dipartimento della pietra lavica Donna Etna, tenutasi poco tempo fa presso l’orto botanico di Catania. La “gonna” in crochet, in realtà arriva direttamente da una bancarella del mercato di Catania e all’origine, prima di essere utilizzata come tale, era una splendida tovaglia da tavola. Non si direbbe, ma in realtà è proprio così. La collana, altra creazione di Massimo è in ottone e  pietra lavica scolpita. Materiali poveri,  una grandissima abilità manuale,  un innato gusto  e l’infinito amore che ci mette per ogni singola cosa che crea, fanno di Massimo un Artista un vero Artista. Di quelli rari. Di quelli preziosi.

 

There isn’t a particular school nor study that gives you the qualification of artist. You are born an artist. You are one inside. As in the case of my dear friend Massimo Fichera. He and his endless creativity, he and his limitless imagination. Massimo doesn’t follow rules; he “simply” listens and consequently follows his instinct. His gift is huge and rare. To be an absolute artist, in my opinion, means to live without refraining. It means to be able to listen to your inner self and not be afraid of your personal feelings. Let them flow, as they rightly should. As they know. Massimo is a restorer, but apart from this, along with his friend Maurizio Fragalà, has launched a new bijoux brand: it was first called MF ArtCreator, but shortly will become Balad El Fil.

This photoshoot represents something very special to me. Strong. Intense. Vibrant and in some way magical and mysterious. In these photos, which were taken at sunset in the magnificent setting of Etna’s craters, a “new part of me” came out. Or better, maybe they were Maurizio Fragalà’s eyes, which across a camera, wanted to see and capture me in this way: Rocky and sensual. Intense with fire. The dress I’m wearing is an “experimental outfit” out of the norm, and thought of and created by Massimo. The lace bodice with embroided lava stones and pieces of coral was created and presented in occasion of the exhibition for the Department of Lava Stone Donna Etna, which was held a while ago at the Catania Botanical Gardens. The crochet “skirt” actually comes straight off a market stall in Catania, and before being used as such, was a fabulous tablecloth. You’d never have said, but it really is. The necklace which is another of Massimo’s creations is in bronze and sculptured lava stone. Simple materials, an incredible manual ability, innate taste and endless love in every single item he creates, makes Massimo an Artist, a true Artist. A rare one. A precious one.

OLIVIA PINK E UN MARE DA FAVOLA

Quando si dice è stato tutto un caso.  Nulla di programmato. Queste foto sono state scattate durante una normalissima e tranquillissima mattina di vacanza, in una delle spiagge del lungomare di Marsala. Quel giorno  avevo deciso di indossare il costumino intero dal taglio iper femminile e dai colori prettamente estivi, del favoloso brand 100%made in Italy Olivia Pink. Come sempre quando vado al mare non metto mai un filo di make-up, giusto una protezione molto alta per il viso. Casualmente, così perché mi piaceva assieme, ho abbinato un cerchietto di fiori che avevo comperato qualche giorno prima dai due giovani e talentuosi ragazzi.  Poi è successo, che vedendo il fotografo – che in quel momento si trovava li in veste di fotografo ufficiale del villaggio del quale facevamo parte- , non ho proprio resistito. Come dire, mi sembrava davvero un peccato avere a disposizione quel favoloso mare  – che non capita di avere tutti i giorni, almeno a me-  e non poterci farci proprio nulla. Dopo averci pensato un po’,ma nemmeno più di tanto, sono andata da Francesco  e gli ho chiesto se gli andava di scattarmi qualche fotina veloce veloce. Bè in un batter d’occhio mi sono ritrovata davanti alla sua macchina fotografica a seguire diligentemente  le sue “istruzioni” e i suoi consigli per far si che uscissero delle belle foto.  Nonostante il  tempo a mia  disposizione  sia stato davvero molto breve e nonostante fossi distratta da mille cose che avevo intorno, credo che comunque qualcosa di buono sia uscito lo stesso 😉

When you say that it was all just a coincidence. Nothing is planned. These photos were taken during a very normal and quiet morning on holiday, on one of Marsala’s long beaches. That morning I had chosen to wear one of Olivia Pink’s full costumes, 100% made in Italy, hugely feminine and strictly summery colours. As always, when I go to the beach, I don’t wear any make-up, just some high factor sunscreen. Casually, because I liked it, I matched a flowery headband that I had bought a few days before from two young and talented guys. And then on seeing the photographer- who was the official photographer at the resort where we were holidaying- I couldn’t resist. It seemed such a shame to have that magnificent sea there -which doesn’t happen everyday, atleast to me it doesn’t- and not do anything about it. After having thought about it a while, not even that much actually, I went to Francesco and I asked him if he wanted to take some quick photos of me. In the blink of an eye I found myself infront of his camera diligently following his “instructions” and advice to ensure some great photos came out of it all. Despite the available time being quite brief and despite being distracted by a million things going on around me, I honestly think something good came out all the same 😉

RETRO’ FLOWER POP

L’ ideatore di queste foto si chiama Guido Malaguri, bravissimo hair stylist di Pavia e da come potete vedere anche super, ma proprio super creativo. Si, perché lui in base all’outfit, cerca sceglie e costruisce la scenografia. Ma non è tutto, perché Guido ha anche l’ hobby e la passione della fotografia; è stato proprio lui infatti con tanto di luci da studio posizionate e studiate con una precisione a dir poco millimetrica, a scattarmi queste foto. Sempre lui ha lavorato sulla post produzione, pensando e creando questo effetto che definirei  pop-retrò. Adoro questo genere di shooting, perché mi danno la possibilità di trasformarmi e di mettermi alla prova; scosse adrenaliniche che mi regalano euforia, mi fanno “girare la testa” e mi danno una carica pazzesca! L’ abito che indosso è di I’m Isola Marras fw2014; raffinato, cool e iper trendy. Io lo amo, come amo questi scatti. Creatività, moda, professionalità, infinito amore per ciò che si fa; qui c’è proprio tutto questo.

The creator of these photos is called Guido Malaguri, excellent hair stylist in Pavia, and from what you can see, also very, very creative. Yes, because he chooses and builds the scenery based on the outfit. But that’s not all. Guido also has a hobby and passion for photography. Infact it was he, who with an array of lights in the studio, positioned and studied their angles with utmost precision and took these photos of me. He also worked on the post production, thinking and creating this pop-retrò effect. I adore this type of shooting because they give me the opportunity of transforming myself and put myself to the test. The adrenaline pumps which makes me euphoric, it makes me “dizzy” and gives me an amazing charge! The dress I’m wearing is by Isola Marras FW2014; sophisticated, cool and very trendy. I love it, as much as I love these shots. Creativity, fashion, professionalism, endless love for what you do; everything is right here.

Stavolta è un’officina meccanica a fare da sfondo a questo nuovo outfit ss2014 . Come ormai ben saprete, a noi le “classiche foto” in strada o sui marciapiedi  non ci piacciono un gran che; a meno che non abbiano un minimo di senso o “una storia”. Proprio per questo motivo siamo sempre alla ricerca di nuove e insolite location.  Avere nuovi stimoli, continuare a rinnovarsi e cercare di non essere banali è davvero importantissimo! Un look Rock Chic caratterizzato da pochi ma essenziali pezzi: la morbida blouse di Shirtaport con stampa floreale multicolor all over, i meravigliosi pendenti di Pepitosa bijoux, gli shorts in pizzo di Ottod’Ame e i favolosi boots borchiati di Ash. Ho voluto una classica, ma sempre glam  acconciatura raccolta. Per quanto riguarda il make up ho optato per un nude effect dagli accenti metallici.

This time it’s a mechanic’s workshop which sets the backdrop for this new SS2014 outfit. As you already well know, we don’t particularly like the “classic photos” snapped on pavements or on the roads, unless they have a minimum of “history” or sense to it. It is for this specific reason that we’re always on the look out for new and unusual sites. To have new inspiration, continue to be innovative and try not to be ordinary is extremely important! A Rock Chic look characterized by a few, yet essential items: the all over multicolour flowery print, soft Shirtaport blouse, the wonderful Pepitosa bijoux pendants, the Ottod’Ame lace shorts and the fabuolous studded Ash boots. I wanted a classic yet glam tied back hairdo. As far as the make-up goes, I opted for a nude effect with metallic touches.

Verde, giallo e Auronia

 A volte gli outfit nascono e prendono spunto proprio dai colori, non necessariamente deve esserci un mood prestabilito o ben definito. Proprio come in questo caso. Tutto è cominciato dagli originalissimi jogging pants con le bande in pizzo gialle, pensati e realizzati dalle ragazze di  Kose Rose, uno dei negozi più trendy di Forte dei Marmi. Contemporaneamente,  Auronia, la neo azienda 100%made in Italy, stava realizzando appositamente per me una maglietta a dir poco strepitosa e molto molto creativa.  Si perché basta una foto ed è possibile far realizzare su tessuto attraverso la nuovissima tecnica di stampa digitale a getto d’inchiostro pigmentato a base d’acqua  – priva di elementi tossici-  l’immagine o la fantasia scelta.  Volevo qualcosa che mi rappresentasse, ma che non fosse troppo “ scontata e vistosa”.  Dopo un paio di prove colore propostomi dall’azienda, abbiamo optato insieme per il giallo e il verde;  colori notoriamente difficili da portare e da vedere insieme, ma sapete che adoro le sfide e questa inusuale combinazione mi incuriosiva veramente tanto. Bè, il risultato è assolutamente sensazionale; la stampa è nitida, le sfumature sembrano quasi dipinte a mano e vi assicuro che il tessuto della t-shirt in viscosa è assolutamente meraviglioso. A dare quel tocco un po’ rock, le borchie applicate ton sur ton.  

 Un look sporty, estivo e grintoso, nel quale i colori sono protagonisti assoluti. La divertentissima clutch di  Pomikaki, i maxi occhiali smeraldo di S2 Essequadro, i pendenti in pelle e i sabot borchiati in sughero e pvc , completano il tutto donando all’outfit un’equilibrata dose di  ironia e glam un tantino’ “fuori dalle righe” 😉

 

Sometimes outfits are simply born from colours and there doesn’t necessarily need to be a specific mood. Just like in this case. It all started from these very original jogging pants with the yellow lace stripes, created by the girls of Kose Rose, one of the trendiest shops in Forte dei Marmi. At the same time, Auronia, the new 100% made in Italy company, were creating a t-shirt just for me which was amazing and very creative to say the least. Yes, because all that is needed is a photo and it’s possible to create this new digital inkjet print on fabric. I wanted something that would represent me, but which wasn’t too “taken for granted or showy”. After a few colour suggestions from the company, we decided on yellow and green; colours which are very difficult to wear and see together, but as you know, I love challenges and this unusual combination of colours intrigued me a lot. The result is sensational; the print is sharp, the hues almost seem as though they have been painted by hand and  I assure you that the viscose t-shirt is wonderful. To give it a touch of rock are the ton sur ton studs.

 

A sporty, summer and feisty look in which the colours are the true protagonists. The fun Pomikaki clutch, the large emerald green S2 Essequadro sunglasses, the leather pendants and the cork and pvc wedges complete and give the outfit a balance of “out of context” irony and glam;-)
