Un total look black, che mi rispecchia moltissimo, dal mood urban-rock e “alternativo” che va equilibratamente a “contrapporsi” con le meravigliose vie del centro storico della mia tanto amata Catania. Un pomeriggio in compagnia del mio carissimo ed eclettico amico Maurizio, rivisitando quei luoghi per me unici e indimenticabili per diverse ragioni. Una passeggiata nella meravigliosa Via Crociferi, cuore di tante costruzioni barocche siciliane come il monastero dei Benedettini e il collegio dei Gesuiti; fino al 2009 era sede dell’Istituto D’arte, la mia scuola. Adesso la magnificenza del collegio è nel vero senso della parola abbandonata a se stessa. Infiniti ricordi riaffiorano nella mia mente ogni volta che passo per quella via. E’ come se in un certo senso quelle “vecchie” e conosciutissime emozioni riprendessero vita. I battiti di cuore prima delle interrogazioni, le mille insicurezze, la paura di crescere, la voglia di creare, i pianti per un brutto voto in matematica e le gioie che ho condiviso con quelli che erano i miei vecchi e veri amici – uno di questi è proprio Maurizio- Un tuffo nel passato sempre poetico e piacevole, ma a tratti malinconico e nostalgico. In queste foto viene naturalmente fuori la mia anima…. nostalgica, pacifica, irrequieta…sognante. Anima che si fonde delicatamente e senza nessuna ostentazione con quei luoghi mistici, magici ed eterei.
An all-black look, with an urban-rock and radical mood which mirrors me perfectly, and judiciously goes to counterpose those magnificent streets in the historical center of my much-loved Catania. An afternoon in the company of my dearest and most eclectic friend Maurizio, revisiting those places which for me are unique and unforgettable for a variety of reasons. A stroll in the magnificent Via Crociferi, the heart of many baroque Sicilian buildings, like the Benedictine monastery and the Jesuit college; which up until 2009 was the location of the Art Institute, my school. Now the college’s magnificence is in the true sense of the word, abandoned to itself. Endless memories come back to mind every single time I pass through that street. It’s as though those old and well-known feelings almost come back to life. The racing pulse before a class-test, the million insecurities, the fear of growing up, the desire to create, the tears shed for a bad mark in maths and the joys that I shared with what were my old and true friends -one of these is precisely Maurizio. A step back in time is always so poetic and pleasurable, but at times melancholic and nostalgic. My soul comes out in these photos… nostalgia, peaceful, unsettled…dreamy. A soul which blends delicately and without any ostentation, with those mystical, magical and heavenly places.
