In this period the long awaited Fashion Week in Milan is to be held.
And it is in these exact days that one should stay closed indoors, and stay put, if ones self-esteem has hit rock bottom…or, you should try to avoid walking around the hottest areas of the city. Infact, on the city streets, tall slim guys are pouring down from the skies, wearing their designer labels, and moving suavely in the coolest streets of the Lombard capital.
Furthermore, in this constantly hot week, “fashion week victims” also hit the streets, ready to do anything and everything in order to get attention; at times exaggerating far too match in matching up clothes and accessories.
At times victims of the negative side of fashion, that of appearance rather than substance. It’s true that fashion means immagination, to be daring, and it is right to play with it so. But I feel that at times exaggeration can bring to exasperation, and it can be harmful, because the risk is that of becoming a mannequin and throwing on anything whatsoever, rather than being a symbol of originality.
Fashion is like fire. You need to know how to “play” with it, or else you’ll get burned.
