Uno dei trend di quest’estate, sono state le mini mute in neoprene, ispirate al mondo dei surfisti.
Infatti per praticare questo sport, la scelta della muta giusta è un aspetto fondamentale; permette infatti ai surfisti di “uscire” in completa sicurezza e con una adeguata protezione termica dall ‘acqua gelida e dal vento dell’oceano.
Un paio di mesi fa da H&M, sono rimasta incantata e folgorata da questa meravigliosa tutina dai vivacissimi colori vitaminici. Non sapevo esattamente ancora come utilizzarla, ma di una cosa ero certa: doveva essere mia!
Certo, sarebbe stato perfetto scattare queste foto sulle spiagge californiane col vento che scompiglia i capelli e onde che si infrangono sulla sabbia…Ma “ahimè” non si puo’ proprio realizzare tutto cio’ che si vorrebbe:(
Cosi’ ho voluto a modo mio, interpretare la tutina dalle tinte shocking e dettagli-cerniera di H&M, su un bordo piscina alla calda luce del tramonto con un tocco ironico e rock ;)One of this summers trends have been the mini neoprene wetsuits, inspired by the world of surfers. It allows surfers to go out to sea in complete safety and with an adequate thermic protection against the ice-cold sea and ocean winds.
A few months ago I was enchanted and struck by this amazing vivaciously coloured wetsuit in H&M. I didn’t exactly know how to use it, but I was sure of one thing: that it had to be mine!
Ofcourse, it would have been perfect to snap some shots on a Californian beach with the wind blowing through your hair and the waves splashing on the beach…but “alas” you can’t do  absolutely everything that you’d like 🙁
Therefore, in my own way, I wanted to interpret this H&M suit with such shocking colours and evident zip on the side of the pool under the warm dusk light with an ironic and rock touch 😉

Qualche mese fa ho avuto la bellissima possibilità di visionare in anteprima la collezione ASOS autunno-inverno 2012-2013.
Mix&match di stampe stravaganti e originali, colore, applicazioni e stampe gioiello che ricoprono abiti e  clutch, preziosissimi  ricami, pizzi e dettagli animalier: grande ispirazione all’opulento mondo baroccco ma  sempre con quel tocco rock-glam che contraddistingue  ASOS.
Trovo questa collezione veramente cool: divertente e stravagante al punto giusto. Mi piace tantissimo l’idea di poter mixare diversi tipi di stampe e tessuti insieme. Sono proprio sicura che alcuni pezzi diventeranno dei veri e propri must have per i super fashion addict, anzi, lo sono sicuramente già 😉 !About a month ago I was given the most wonderful opportunity of seeing the preview of the ASOS autumn-winter 2012-2013 collection.
A mix & match of extravagant and original colours, applications and jewelled prints that cover clothes and clutch bags, exquisite embroideries, lace and animal prints: a great inspiration to the opulent Baroque world but always with a rock-glam touch which distinguishes ASOS from the rest.
I find this collection to be really cool: fun and extravagant to the right degree. I very much like the idea of being able to mix different types of prints and fabrics together. I am sure that some items will become the must-haves for those super fashion addicts, infact, I already am 😉 !!

Quest’outfit è dedicato al favoloso abito della giovane designer di origine turca Gulhan Ozer. Una raffinatissima ed elegantissima dea greca moderna; bella, eterea. Questa l’immagine di donna alla quale Gulhan si ispira per le sue collezioni.
Le linee sono semplici e pulite, i tessuti fluidi, morbidi, poco aderenti, coloratissime stampe floreali dalle nuance iper femminili. La sua è una continua ricerca nel passato, nell’arte e nel bello, in ogni suo aspetto.
E’ solo da un paio di mesi che conosco questa griffe; ho indossato per la prima volta un paio dei suoi favolosi short floreali durante la serata inaugurale del Convivio il 7 giugno.
Adoro le sue creazioni, sono incredibilmente chic. Mi sembra di tornare indietro di scatto nel tempo, attraversando il passato in uno stile colorato e un tocco glamour che magicamente riportano al presente e al futuro.
Pochi accessori ma essenziali. Mi piace l’effetto che fa la collana bouquet art dèco comprata a Londra un paio di anni fa; sembra proprio “sbocciare” dal vestito, come se fosse un tutt’uno con la stampa fiorata che l’accoglie. Semplicemente così ho voluto interpretare il meraviglioso tubino di Gulhan Ozer.This outfit is dedicated to the wonderful outfit by the young Turkish designer Gulhan Ozer. A modern sophisticated and elegant Greek goddess; beautiful and eternal. This is the type of woman which inspires Gulhan’s collections.
The lines are clean cut and simple, with soft flowy fabrics, loose fitting and colourful flowery prints with highly feminine nuance. Her mission is a continuous search in the past, in Art and all its beauty. I have only known this brand for a few months now. I wore a pair of her fabulous flowery shorts for the very first time at the Convivio’s inaugural evening on the 7th of June.
I adore her creations, I find them incredibly chic. I feel like I’ve taken a step back in time, walking through a colourful and glamourous past, which magically brings you back to the present and the future.
Only a few, but essential accessories. I like the art déco bouquet necklaces’ special effect; a necklace I bought in London a few years ago. It seems as though its one in itself, blossoming from the dress itself. And it is in this way that I wanted to interpret Gulhan Ozer’s wonderful sheath dress.

POSTCARDS FROM ACICASTELLO

Acicastello, piccolo paese al centro di un territorio costiero, a pochi km da Catania, noto per l’antichissimo Castello medievale ( ex borgo fortificato). Sono stati proprio i Normanni, popolo guerriero ad aver legato il loro nome nella tradizione del Castello.
Sul Castello, storia e panorama a parte, ci sono da ammirare un piccolo museo civico e le splendide piante grasse dell’orto botanico.
Ed è proprio ad Acicastello che ho passato gran parte delle mie vacanze estive: ricordi, emozioni, bellissime esperienze, le partite di calcio “con i maschi”.. i primi veri batticuori. ( impossibile da dimenticare!) Ogni volta che ci ritorno provo sempre un non so che di nostalgia. Sono passati tantissimi anni dai mitici tempi “dei muretti”, dai falò di ferragosto  che si organizzavano sugli scogli, le feste di compleanno in terrazza, i lenti con le canzoni di Micheal Jackson,  le granite alle sei del mattino dopo lunghissime  notti passate in giro “semplicemente a parlare di noi” e su cosa saremmo diventati nei fatidici anni 2000, che aspettavamo tanto e che sembravano non arrivare mai!

Quest’anno, durante la mia breve permanenza, ho deciso di “immortalare” (tramite l’avanzatissima tecnologia di Instagram)  alcune immagini che hanno catturato la mia attenzione: fotogrammi che fino a qualche tempo fa sarebbero stati “scontati”, ma che invece per me adesso rappresentano vera poesia….

Acicatello is small village at the very centre of a costal region, a few km from Catania, well-known for his ancient Medieval Castle (a walled village). It was the Normans, a nation of warriors who gave their traditional name to the Castle.
At the Castle, apart from the history and view, you can admire a small civic museum and the wonderful succulent plants in the botanic garden.
And it is in Acicastello that I spent most of my summer holidays: memories, feelings,  wonderful experiences, a footbal match with “boys”…the first beating hearts. (absolutely impossible to forget!) Every time I go back I always feel a tinge of homesickness. Many years have passed since those “little wall” get-togethers, from the August bonfires that we’d organise on the rocks, the birthday parties on the terraces, the slow dances with Micheal Jackson playing in the backdrop, the slushes at 6am after many nights spent walking around simply talking amongst ourselves and about what we’d become in the fateful year 2000, which we longed for and which seemed never to arrive!
During my brief stay this year, I decided to “immortalize” (via Instagram’s advanced technology) a few images which caught my attention: fotograms which up till a while back were taken for granted, but which now represent poetry to me …

Un tempo le angurie giganti arrivavano con un camioncino tramite un servizio “porta  a porta”.. ma anche oggi non mancano mai nei banchetti lungo le strade.

La versione siciliana del marzapane ovvero frutta di Martorana, è fatta con pasta di mandorle finemente suddivisa ed amalgamata con albume d’uovo e zucchero.. e la pasta può essere colorata e aromatizzata.
The Sicilian version of marzipan, or moreover Martorana fruit, is made from almond dough finely divided and mixed with egg white and sugar…and the dough can be coloured and flavoured.

La granita … anticamente veniva fatta con la neve dell’Etna. Oggi si fa con un composto liquido semi-congelato preparato con acqua, zucchero e frutta e viene servita in bicchieri di vetro trasparenti, ecco la mia preferita; mandorla e pistacchio 😉
A slush … in the olden days it was made from the snow on Etna. Today it is made from a  semi-frozen mixture, made with water, sugar and fruit, and served up in transparent glasses. My favourite is almond and pistachio 😉
Pizzette e arancini..specialità della cucina siciliana. Curiosità :  Nella letteratura, il Commissario Montalbano, personaggio dei romanzi di Andrea Camilleri è un noto buongustaio e ha contribuito a far conoscere questo piatto fuori dall’Italia con il libro “Gli arancini di Montalbano”

Curiosity: In literature, the Commissioner Montalbano, a character from Andrea Camilleri’s novels is a well-known gourmet and has contributed to helping others, outside of Italy, learn about this particluar plate, with a book “Montalbano’s fried rice balls”
  Il Castello di origine Normanna realizzato su di un costone di lava basaltica a strapiombo sul mare risalente al secolo XI.
The castle, originally Norman, built on basaltic lava, on the precipice of the sea, dates back to the XI century.   
      Passeggiando in Piazza Castello, non potevo non notare questo favoloso giapponese col suo Kimono. Semplicemente super chic 😉

Anche il carretto ha uno stile: Nel catanese le sponde sono rettangolari, la tinta di fondo rossa come la lava dell’Etna o gialla e gli intagli e le decorazioni si presentano più ricercati e meglio rifiniti.

Even the cart has a distinct style: In  catanese the sides are rectangular, the base colour is red like Etna’s lava or yellow, and the carvings and decorations are the most sought after and more refinly finished off.

L’apertura al pubblico del nuovo flagship store Just Cavalli di Milano è prevista per il 22 Settembre 2012, in Corso Matteotti n.18, all’ingresso di Via Montenapoleone.
La boutique di 450 metri quadri su due piani ospiterà le collezioni prêt-à-porter femminili e maschili, oltre ad accessori, occhiali, bijoux, orologi, intimo.
Al piano terra sono esposti gli accessori donna, le collezioni di abbigliamento e accessori per uomo e un wall display riservato interamente al denim. E’ prevista inoltre un’area “bridge” dove poter scegliere esclusivamente T-shirts. Al primo piano verranno esposte le collezioni abbigliamento donna, che si completano di accessori e underwear.
L’Evento di Apertura si terrà il 21 Settembre 2012 in collaborazione con Radio Deejay.
Un party esclusivo nel cuore di Milano con La Pina e Diego che permetteranno ad alcuni ascoltatori di partecipare all’evento nella boutique di Corso Matteotti attraverso un contest. Il meccanismo di partecipazione sarà semplice e coinvolgente: per una settimana, all’interno del programma Pinocchio, i conduttori inviteranno il pubblico a mandare una mail con le motivazioni per le quali vorrebbero prendere parte all’evento Just Cavalli.
